Venusaur collecting questions

Can I use this as a Venusaur master set checklist?

Use the free PDF or CSV to track the English and Japanese Pokémon TCG cards in this collection, including listed promos, editions and holo variants. Each version has its own checkbox. “Master set” totals depend on which languages and printings you collect; this checklist covers the records currently listed here and does not guarantee every historical printing is included.

  • English: 59 card listings and 72 checklist entries, including listed editions and finishes.
  • Japanese: 58 card listings and 62 checklist entries, including listed editions and finishes.
Does this list include every type of Venusaur collectible card?

This list covers English and Japanese Pokémon TCG cards named Venusaur, including named forms and owner’s Pokémon where available. It does not include TCG Pocket, Topps, Topsun, Carddass, other languages or cameos in another Pokémon’s artwork. Gallery additions and checklist counts follow the catalogue as it updates.

How much are Venusaur Pokémon cards worth?

Match the set, collector number, language, edition and finish before comparing values. Condition affects what a card sells for.

  • English: listed raw-card estimates range from $0.88 to $999.99 USD, across 50 distinct priced cards.
  • Japanese: listed raw-card estimates range from $0.44 to $399.99 USD, across 42 distinct priced cards.

Unpriced cards still appear in the checklist. Check each version’s observation date; older estimates may be out of date.

Are these raw Venusaur card values or PSA 10 prices?

These are estimated prices for raw, ungraded cards. PSA 10 and other graded cards have separate values. A raw estimate does not tell you what a PSA 10 copy is worth; compare recent sales of the exact card and grade.

What are the cheapest Venusaur cards to collect?
  • English: has the lowest available estimate at $0.88 USD. Open the card to check its price date and versions.
  • Japanese: has the lowest available estimate at $0.44 USD. Open the card to check its price date and versions.
Which Venusaur cards can I collect for under US$5 or US$10?
  • English: 8 distinct cards have a listed version below US$5; 12 have one below US$10.
  • Japanese: 9 distinct cards have a listed version below US$5; 16 have one below US$10.

Each card counts once, using its cheapest priced version. Cards below US$5 also count below US$10. These budgets stay in US dollars when you change the display currency; compare exact versions and check the price dates before buying.

Which Venusaur ex artwork is the 151 special illustration rare?

English 198/165 is the special illustration rare, illustrated by Yoriyuki Ikegami. Regular 003/165 and full-art 182/165 are separate prints with different artwork.

Japan’s corresponding special illustration rare is 200/165. Use language and collector number together rather than treating every Venusaur ex as the same card.

Was Venusaur Black Star Promo 13 a Game Boy pack-in?

English Promo 13 came with the Official Nintendo Player’s Guide in March 2000. Japan’s unnumbered GB-symbol version came with the Pokémon Card GB Official Guidebook in January 1999.

The illustration originated with the Game Boy TCG, but these physical cards were guidebook inserts. Their foil coverage also differs.

How do Dark Venusaur’s magazine and Winner releases differ?

The Japanese unnumbered card was supplied in Trainers Volume 10 in March 2001, alongside Dark Ivysaur. English Best of Game 7 followed at BattleZone events in May 2003.

The Winner stamp identifies an award version. The Japanese magazine print and later numbered Pokémon Web print have different layouts; this collection preserves those identities.
