Staryu collecting questions

Can I use this as a Staryu master set checklist?

Use the free PDF or CSV to track the English and Japanese Pokémon TCG cards in this collection, including listed promos, editions and holo variants. Each version has its own checkbox. “Master set” totals depend on which languages and printings you collect; this checklist covers the records currently listed here and does not guarantee every historical printing is included.

  • English: 32 card listings and 59 checklist entries, including listed editions and finishes.
  • Japanese: 42 card listings and 51 checklist entries, including listed editions and finishes.
Does this list include every type of Staryu collectible card?

This list covers English and Japanese Pokémon TCG cards named Staryu, including named forms and owner’s Pokémon where available. It does not include TCG Pocket, Topps, Topsun, Carddass, other languages or cameos in another Pokémon’s artwork. Gallery additions and checklist counts follow the catalogue as it updates.

How much are Staryu Pokémon cards worth?

Match the set, collector number, language, edition and finish before comparing values. Condition affects what a card sells for.

  • English: listed raw-card estimates range from $0.07 to $95.99 USD, across 31 distinct priced cards.
  • Japanese: listed raw-card estimates range from $0.12 to $25.93 USD, across 31 distinct priced cards.

Unpriced cards still appear in the checklist. Check each version’s observation date; older estimates may be out of date.

Are these raw Staryu card values or PSA 10 prices?

These are estimated prices for raw, ungraded cards. PSA 10 and other graded cards have separate values. A raw estimate does not tell you what a PSA 10 copy is worth; compare recent sales of the exact card and grade.

What are the cheapest Staryu cards to collect?
  • English: has the lowest available estimate at $0.07 USD. Open the card to check its price date and versions.

  • English: 26 distinct cards have a listed version below US$5; 28 have one below US$10.
  • Japanese: 26 distinct cards have a listed version below US$5; 28 have one below US$10.

Each card counts once, using its cheapest priced version. Cards below US$5 also count below US$10. These budgets stay in US dollars when you change the display currency; compare exact versions and check the price dates before buying.

Where did the Japanese CoroCoro Misty’s Staryu come from?

Ken Sugimori’s unnumbered promo was inserted with Brock’s Onix in the March 1998 CoroCoro Comic issue, released February 15, 1998. It has a different illustration from the later Hanada City Gym deck and Gym Challenge 92/132 version, despite both designs being illustrated by Sugimori.

What is the unnumbered Japanese Vending Staryu?

Miki Tanaka illustrated the 50 HP Staryu from Japanese Expansion Sheet 3, released November 24, 1998. Its Strange Beam and Spinning Attack identify a separate sheet design from Base Set Staryu. The card has no collector number; 120 in its Pokédex panel is the species number.

Which Staryu is the Paldean Fates shiny card?

Nisota Niso illustrated shiny Staryu 118/091 in Paldean Fates and Japanese Shiny Treasure ex 221/190. The regular 151 120/165 and Shiny Treasure ex 038/190 prints instead use Arai Kiriko’s different illustration. The shiny artwork is a separate card design.
