Cubone collecting questions

Can I use this as a Cubone master set checklist?

Use the free PDF or CSV to track the English and Japanese Pokémon TCG cards in this collection, including listed promos, editions and holo variants. Each version has its own checkbox. “Master set” totals depend on which languages and printings you collect; this checklist covers the records currently listed here and does not guarantee every historical printing is included.

  • English: 24 card listings and 43 checklist entries, including listed editions and finishes.
  • Japanese: 30 card listings and 32 checklist entries, including listed editions and finishes.
Does this list include every type of Cubone collectible card?

This list covers English and Japanese Pokémon TCG cards named Cubone, including named forms and owner’s Pokémon where available. It does not include TCG Pocket, Topps, Topsun, Carddass, other languages or cameos in another Pokémon’s artwork. Gallery additions and checklist counts follow the catalogue as it updates.

How much are Cubone Pokémon cards worth?

Match the set, collector number, language, edition and finish before comparing values. Condition affects what a card sells for.

  • English: listed raw-card estimates range from $0.18 to $356.65 USD, across 23 distinct priced cards.
  • Japanese: listed raw-card estimates range from $0.15 to $91.71 USD, across 23 distinct priced cards.

Unpriced cards still appear in the checklist. Check each version’s observation date; older estimates may be out of date.

Are these raw Cubone card values or PSA 10 prices?

These are estimated prices for raw, ungraded cards. PSA 10 and other graded cards have separate values. A raw estimate does not tell you what a PSA 10 copy is worth; compare recent sales of the exact card and grade.

What are the cheapest Cubone cards to collect?
  • English: has the lowest available estimate at $0.18 USD. Open the card to check its price date and versions.
  • Japanese: has the lowest available estimate at $0.15 USD. Open the card to check its price date and versions.
Which Cubone cards can I collect for under US$5 or US$10?
  • English: 15 distinct cards have a listed version below US$5; 17 have one below US$10.
  • Japanese: 9 distinct cards have a listed version below US$5; 12 have one below US$10.

Each card counts once, using its cheapest priced version. Cards below US$5 also count below US$10. These budgets stay in US dollars when you change the display currency; compare exact versions and check the price dates before buying.

Where did the Japanese CoroCoro Cubone promo come from?

Miki Tanaka’s unnumbered Cubone was included with Jynx and Farfetch’d in the April 1998 CoroCoro Comic issue, released March 15, 1998. The insert supplied a Bone counter for Cubone’s attacks. A later magazine prize draw offered the same design; this collection does not invent a second imported product for that distribution.

Is Vending Cubone the same card as the CoroCoro promo?

No. Atsuko Nishida’s Vending Cubone has 40 HP and belongs to Expansion Sheet 3, released November 24, 1998. Miki Tanaka’s CoroCoro card has 50 HP and different artwork and attacks. Both are unnumbered Japanese cards; their shared Pokédex number does not identify a collector number.

Was Hidden Fates Cubone first released in a Japanese booster set?

This Hasuno illustration first appeared as Japanese 254/SM-P, available in Gym tournament promotional packs during September, October and November 2018. The Japanese card carries the Gym logo. Its English version later appeared as Hidden Fates 37/68 in 2019.
