Tentacool collecting questions

Can I use this as a Tentacool master set checklist?

Use the free PDF or CSV to track the English and Japanese Pokémon TCG cards in this collection, including listed promos, editions and holo variants. Each version has its own checkbox. “Master set” totals depend on which languages and printings you collect; this checklist covers the records currently listed here and does not guarantee every historical printing is included.

  • English: 16 card listings and 32 checklist entries, including listed editions and finishes.
  • Japanese: 19 card listings and 23 checklist entries, including listed editions and finishes.
Does this list include every type of Tentacool collectible card?

This list covers English and Japanese Pokémon TCG cards named Tentacool, including named forms and owner’s Pokémon where available. It does not include TCG Pocket, Topps, Topsun, Carddass, other languages or cameos in another Pokémon’s artwork. Gallery additions and checklist counts follow the catalogue as it updates.

How much are Tentacool Pokémon cards worth?

Match the set, collector number, language, edition and finish before comparing values. Condition affects what a card sells for.

  • English: listed raw-card estimates range from $0.07 to $170.54 USD, across 16 distinct priced cards.
  • Japanese: listed raw-card estimates range from $0.10 to $24.93 USD, across 13 distinct priced cards.

Unpriced cards still appear in the checklist. Check each version’s observation date; older estimates may be out of date.

Are these raw Tentacool card values or PSA 10 prices?

These are estimated prices for raw, ungraded cards. PSA 10 and other graded cards have separate values. A raw estimate does not tell you what a PSA 10 copy is worth; compare recent sales of the exact card and grade.

What are the cheapest Tentacool cards to collect?
  • English: has the lowest available estimate at $0.07 USD. Open the card to check its price date and versions.
  • Japanese: has the lowest available estimate at $0.10 USD. Open the card to check its price date and versions.
Which Tentacool cards can I collect for under US$5 or US$10?
  • English: 15 distinct cards have a listed version below US$5; 15 have one below US$10.
  • Japanese: 9 distinct cards have a listed version below US$5; 12 have one below US$10.

Each card counts once, using its cheapest priced version. Cards below US$5 also count below US$10. These budgets stay in US dollars when you change the display currency; compare exact versions and check the price dates before buying.

Is the CoroCoro Misty’s Tentacool the same artwork as Gym Heroes 57/132?

Both illustrations are by Ken Sugimori, but the Japanese CoroCoro insert uses different artwork. It accompanied the December 1998 issue, released November 15. The Leaders’ Stadium design became English Gym Heroes 57/132.

Why are there two Tentacool cards in Primal Clash?

Number 70/160 is Yukiko Baba’s regular Psychic-type design. Number 71/160 is the separate Alpha Recovery card, corresponding to Japanese Tidal Storm 041/070. They are different designs, so neither is grouped as a foil version of the other.

Why is Primal Clash Tentacool Psychic-type rather than Water-type?

The Psychic-type 70/160 acknowledges Tentacool’s Poison typing. It is still Tentacool, and the card belongs alongside its Water-type releases in a species collection.
