Magmar collecting questions

Can I use this as a Magmar master set checklist?

Use the free PDF or CSV to track the English and Japanese Pokémon TCG cards in this collection, including listed promos, editions and holo variants. Each version has its own checkbox. “Master set” totals depend on which languages and printings you collect; this checklist covers the records currently listed here and does not guarantee every historical printing is included.

  • English: 33 card listings and 58 checklist entries, including listed editions and finishes.
  • Japanese: 41 card listings and 48 checklist entries, including listed editions and finishes.
Does this list include every type of Magmar collectible card?

This list covers English and Japanese Pokémon TCG cards named Magmar, including named forms and owner’s Pokémon where available. It does not include TCG Pocket, Topps, Topsun, Carddass, other languages or cameos in another Pokémon’s artwork. Gallery additions and checklist counts follow the catalogue as it updates.

How much are Magmar Pokémon cards worth?

Match the set, collector number, language, edition and finish before comparing values. Condition affects what a card sells for.

  • English: listed raw-card estimates range from $0.05 to $91.27 USD, across 31 distinct priced cards.
  • Japanese: listed raw-card estimates range from $0.15 to $27.63 USD, across 31 distinct priced cards.

Unpriced cards still appear in the checklist. Check each version’s observation date; older estimates may be out of date.

Are these raw Magmar card values or PSA 10 prices?

These are estimated prices for raw, ungraded cards. PSA 10 and other graded cards have separate values. A raw estimate does not tell you what a PSA 10 copy is worth; compare recent sales of the exact card and grade.

What are the cheapest Magmar cards to collect?
  • English: has the lowest available estimate at $0.05 USD. Open the card to check its price date and versions.
  • Japanese: has the lowest available estimate at $0.15 USD. Open the card to check its price date and versions.
Which Magmar cards can I collect for under US$5 or US$10?
  • English: 26 distinct cards have a listed version below US$5; 28 have one below US$10.
  • Japanese: 24 distinct cards have a listed version below US$5; 27 have one below US$10.

Each card counts once, using its cheapest priced version. Cards below US$5 also count below US$10. These budgets stay in US dollars when you change the display currency; compare exact versions and check the price dates before buying.

Where did Wizards Promo Magmar 44 come from?

English Magmar 44 was distributed through the Pokémon League in March 2002. Its design first appeared on glossy sheet five of Japanese Expansion Sheet 3 in 1998, followed by a non-glossy Quick Starter Green Deck reprint. The English card uses a Neo-era layout, while the Japanese versions use the original layout.

Are Base Set Magmar 36/102 and Fossil Magmar 39/62 different cards?

Yes. Base Set Magmar 36/102 and Fossil Magmar 39/62 have different illustrations and attacks. Pokémon TCG Classic later reprinted the Fossil design as a holo in its Charizard & Ho-Oh ex deck, using English number 006/034 and Japanese 006/032. That later Classic printing is separate from the original Fossil release.

Did Japanese Magmar ex first come from an expansion booster?

The Japanese 001/019 Magmar ex was supplied in the Torchic Constructed Starter Deck released January 31, 2003. Its English counterpart is EX Ruby & Sapphire 100/109. The Japanese fixed-deck origin differs from the English expansion release.
