Dragonair collecting questions

Can I use this as a Dragonair master set checklist?

Use the free PDF or CSV to track the English and Japanese Pokémon TCG cards in this collection, including listed promos, editions and holo variants. Each version has its own checkbox. “Master set” totals depend on which languages and printings you collect; this checklist covers the records currently listed here and does not guarantee every historical printing is included.

  • English: 36 card listings and 60 checklist entries, including listed editions and finishes.
  • Japanese: 34 card listings and 37 checklist entries, including listed editions and finishes.
Does this list include every type of Dragonair collectible card?

This list covers English and Japanese Pokémon TCG cards named Dragonair, including named forms and owner’s Pokémon where available. It does not include TCG Pocket, Topps, Topsun, Carddass, other languages or cameos in another Pokémon’s artwork. Gallery additions and checklist counts follow the catalogue as it updates.

How much are Dragonair Pokémon cards worth?

Match the set, collector number, language, edition and finish before comparing values. Condition affects what a card sells for.

  • English: listed raw-card estimates range from $0.18 to $389.99 USD, across 29 distinct priced cards.
  • Japanese: listed raw-card estimates range from $0.14 to $59.99 USD, across 25 distinct priced cards.

Unpriced cards still appear in the checklist. Check each version’s observation date; older estimates may be out of date.

Are these raw Dragonair card values or PSA 10 prices?

These are estimated prices for raw, ungraded cards. PSA 10 and other graded cards have separate values. A raw estimate does not tell you what a PSA 10 copy is worth; compare recent sales of the exact card and grade.

What are the cheapest Dragonair cards to collect?
  • English: has the lowest available estimate at $0.18 USD. Open the card to check its price date and versions.
  • Japanese: has the lowest available estimate at $0.14 USD. Open the card to check its price date and versions.
Which Dragonair cards can I collect for under US$5 or US$10?
  • English: 13 distinct cards have a listed version below US$5; 18 have one below US$10.
  • Japanese: 10 distinct cards have a listed version below US$5; 16 have one below US$10.

Each card counts once, using its cheapest priced version. Cards below US$5 also count below US$10. These budgets stay in US dollars when you change the display currency; compare exact versions and check the price dates before buying.

Which Dragonair 151 card is the illustration rare, and is it a Master Ball card?

Dragonair’s full illustration by rika is 181/165 in English Scarlet & Violet—151 and 182/165 in Japanese Pokémon Card 151. The different numbers identify the same artwork in those two languages.

The regular Dragonair is 148/165 in both languages. Japanese 148/165 has regular, Poké Ball and Master Ball pattern prints; those finishes are separate checklist entries. The Master Ball print is not the full-illustration 182/165 card, and English reverse holo is not a Japanese Master Ball finish.

What is Dragonair 017/T, and where did the Japanese magazine promo come from?

Dragonair 017/T, illustrated by Kouki Saitou, was supplied with volume 19 of Pokémon Card Trainers magazine in Japan in November 2002. That issue included Dratini, Dragonair and Dragonite promos. Look for its 017/T number and book-shaped T promotional symbol.

It was a magazine insert, not a booster-pack pull. It remains in this collection and every applicable checklist even when no usable price estimate is available. An absent estimate does not mean the card is inexpensive.

How do Dragonair’s State Championships and STAFF cards differ from Legends Awakened 52/146?

The ordinary 52/146 card belongs to Legends Awakened, released in 2008. Promotional copies were distributed for the 2009 State/Province/Territory Championships, with a separate STAFF version. Check the championship and STAFF markings rather than relying on the number alone.

The checklist keeps these prints separate. Each price guide groups this same-art family into one position, selecting the highest or lowest priced eligible version for that guide. A championship price is not the price of an unstamped pack copy.

Do Dark Dragonair, Light Dragonair and Erika’s Dragonair count towards a Dragonair collection?

Yes. This list includes those named Dragonair cards as well as ordinary and Delta Species prints in the supported English and Japanese catalogue. Artwork cameos on cards with another Pokémon’s name are outside its scope.

Different numbered artworks remain distinct. For example, Dark Dragonair 31/109 and 32/109 in EX Team Rocket Returns correspond to 011/020 and 012/020 in the Japanese Silver Deck Kit. They can occupy separate ranking positions; they are not two finishes of one card.

Why are there different Delta Species Dragonair cards and a prerelease stamp?

EX Delta Species has two Lightning-type Dragonair cards, 41/113 and 42/113. The Japanese 006/015 belongs to the Holon Research Tower Lightning Quarter Deck, while 035/086 belongs to the Holon Research Tower expansion. A deck origin should not be described as a booster-pack pull.

The Grass-type Dragonair δ 28/101 is from EX Dragon Frontiers. Its stamped prerelease print was distributed at that expansion’s prerelease events. The checklist retains the promo separately; the guides group it with the same numbered pack card and show which print supplies the displayed price.
